Pressure Cooker Swedish Meatballs

Delicious creamy Swedish Meatballs cooked fast in the Pressure Cooker.

But before you dive in and make the IKEA favourite sauce a word on the sauce. Its just 3 simple ingredients. Stock, cream cheese and garlic puree. A sauce that you can also make with other recipes too, and perfect this master recipe and then you can re-use it in other recipes.

Ingredients

Swedish Meatball Sauce

  • 480 ml /2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 285 g /10oz Soft Cheese/Cream Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Puree/Paste

Swedish Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 kg /2lb Minced/Ground Beef
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Onion & Garlic
  • 1 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 2 Tsp Coriander Leaf/Cilantro
  • 2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 Tsp Bouquet Garni
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  • Pour your beef broth into the Instant Pot inner pot. In a bowl add your Swedish Meatball ingredients and mix well so that your mince is well seasoned.
  • Make your mince into meatball shapes and submerge them into the beef broth in your Instant Pot.
  • Place the lid on your Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 5 minutes on manual pressure. After 5 minutes natural pressure release, manually release pressure.
  • Pour your meatballs and beef broth into a bowl for now.
  • Put your Instant Pot on sauté and when it gets hot add in your soft cheese as well as a little bone broth at a time until you have a thick sauce. Add in the garlic and mix some more.
  • Add the meatballs back into the Instant Pot, gently mix and serve.

Notes

After gradually adding our beef bone broth back into the pressure cooker for making the Swedish Meatballs Sauce we found we used 80% of it.
