Place into the blender the fresh basil, garlic, tomato puree and tinned tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Blend until smooth. Using a pastry brush add a layer of tomato sauce over the pittas.
Add one slice of cheese along with a sprinkling of oregano.
Place in the air fryer grill pan inside the air fryer and cook for 3 minutes at 160c/320f.
Slice and serve.
Notes
I normally grab about 5 fresh basil leaves and then throw them in the blender when making the tomato sauce. It makes the tomato sauce taste so much better.
