What Kitchen Gadget Stuff I Bought In 2025

Watch over my shoulder as I share with you what I bought for our kitchen and our kitchen gadgets in 2025. And what I recommend you buy in 2026.

what kitchen gadget stuff i bought in 2025

Hello 2026 and whilst everyone else is reflecting over their new goals of the year, it’s nice to take a look back and see what we bought last year for our kitchen and what we recommend the most.

I have opened my Amazon order history and had a scroll through all of 2025, taken out personal things like Christmas and birthday gifts and reminded myself of exactly what I did get.

It’s a weird thing really because it’s hard to remember exactly what you bought a year ago, what you liked and what you didn’t like!

My Number 1 Purchase Of The Year

sofias herbs and spices drawer

This must be our all-in-one kitchen drawer kit. Where we bought the drawer inserts, herb and spice jars, stickers, and measuring spoons that fit in those tiny jars.

You can read more about them here – but friends have seen them and thought they were amazing, so we have bought this kit more than once, as it has made a great surprise gift for people that have visited us, seen it in action and really wanted them for themselves.

To make it happen this is the kit you need and all reasonably priced too:

My Kitchen Buys Of The Year (the good and the bad)

spring form pan

7 Inch Spring Form Pan

A last minute purchase because we realised we were about to do a new recipe and our 8 inch wasn’t going to fit the gadget we were going to cook it in! So now we have a 4inch, 6 inch, 7 inch and 8 inch spring form pans!

sushi kit

A Sushi Kit

We were testing out a new sushi recipe for you and also got the kit as the kids love making sushi. They learnt how to at a baking class they go to each week. But for us I only really used the bamboo mat for rolling up the sushi. So if the kids hadn’t used it, I would have called this a bad purchase.

ninja creami

Ninja Creami

I have wanted the Ninja ice cream maker for ages now, but its either been out of stock or not on a special deal. I managed to get one on the Black Friday Deals and really looking forward to using it, when it’s a bit warmer.

philips air fryer

Philips Air Fryer That Cleans Itself

This was another Black Friday deal. In fact, it was on the same order as the Creami above. I love Philips and my favourite air fryer brand and they now have one that has a steam air fry option and also a clean setting. I am loving it and using it so much at the moment.

silicone egg bite moulds

Silicone Egg Moulds

Ours were well due an update and with us making a new cookbook that features them we wanted some for us, some for the photoshoot and some for our recipe testers. If you have not made egg bites before using the pressure cooker it’s a must.

knives and forks

More Knives & Forks

We have a favourite knife and forks set that comes in different colours. Having an adult son means like with teenagers that they have a habit of disappearing, especially the spoons. I don’t think he uses a knife as we always have plenty of those! It was out of stock in the blue we had before, so we ended up waiting about a month for them.

magnetic clips

Magnetic Clips

This was a fail of the year and we didn’t keep them. The idea is that they are magnetic clips that stick to the side of the air fryer to hold your paper liners in place. A lot of hype and didn’t work!

lever arch files

Some Big Folders

I seem to have generated a lot of magazine clippings from looking through lots of magazines over the years of recipes that I want to try. I decided to go through them all, clear out into the blue recycling bin what I didn’t want, and then get a folder for the rest. They are now organised by gadget so that I have a plan. They are also good for when you have printed out recipes and want somewhere to keep them all.

chalk pens

Freezer Bag Pens

I saw these on an accessories page in a cookbook. Those pages are like gold for what you can find and what you didn’t know you needed. That’s why we also have them in all our books. These chalk pens are in the kids stationary section but write perfectly onto freezer bags.

souper cubes

Souper Cubes

Okay I will admit it now I have a souper cubes addiction. One that has led me to buying them in lots of different colours and having a freezer full of them. I just love them and they are great for leftovers and then reheating in the microwave. In fact, today I have a delicious red lentil cube waiting for me in the fridge ready for lunch and dinner.

souper cubes casserole dishes

Souper Cubes Casserole Dishes

Talking about souper cubes they now do a casserole dish that will perfectly fit the large souper cube blocks in. You can then load a frozen cube into them, and then cook in the air fryer, microwave etc.

large pumpkin cutters

Pumpkin Cookie Cutters

I love seasonal baking with the kids and wow these pumpkin cutters were used to make some yummy Halloween inspired grilled cheese, we also used them for some sugar cookies too.

quiche dish

20cm Quiche Tin

This has perforated holes and also has a loose bottom. It’s ideal for air fryer cooking, as well as for your multicooker. Its also by MasterClass which have made a lot of the air fryer accessories that I am a big fan of.

foil trays

Foil Trays For The Air Fryer

This must be the item that I order the most on repeat all year long. If you have checked out our 2nd cookbook – Air Fryer Easy Everyday we dedicate this to our great reader Pat. We even call them in the book Pats Pans. They are perfect for the air fryer and for cooking your food in a foil tray and come in a pack of 30. We usually buy a quantity of 3 and then can order some more when they are running low.

instant pot mini

Instant Pot Mini

Many have asked us to convert the instant pot recipes to the mini for feeding one to two people, so we got a mini. I find it looks so cute, and I just want to cook with it all the time. Its 3 litres so compared to the almost 6 and 8 versions its perfect for a smaller kitchen. Or if you just want to use it for your rice, pasta or side dishes then its perfect.

instant pot 6qt

Instant Pot Duo 6qt

We also downgraded our instant pot. Because we have a lot of very big pressure cookers and multicookers, we decided to go back to the beginning. And switched our 8qt and sold it locally for a 6qt.

kilner wide mouth jars

Kilner Mason Jars

In the build up to making a new cookbook, I find myself buying new things and experimenting. I got these beautiful jars for a salad in a jar recipe for The Complete Multicooker Cookbook.

kitchen scales

Kitchen Scales

Our digital scales broke after years of use and we needed an upgrade. I much prefer them with a bowl so got this one. But it was a failure. The scales were brilliant but the bowl with it was low quality and the lemon juice and rind I was adding for our Ninja Foodi lemon drizzle loaves stuck to them and when I tried to scrub it off it broke. But we kept it as the scales are very good.

Knife Set

Knife Set

I was finding that I was starting to hack at food that I chopped on videos rather than slicing stuff. My knife set was well out of date so I swapped them for a Joseph Joseph knife set and they are so good in comparison. I also bought a second set. So that I have some on my knife block and then more in the drawer. Just because there is often more than one of us prepping at the same time. I also tried their chopping boards at the same time, but wasn’t impressed and they scratched so quickly.

mug tree

Mug Tree

This feels old fashioned now, but you just get sick of getting your favourite mug out of the kitchen cupboard. Its just nice to have them on display and easy access near the kettle.

microwave shelf

Microwave Shelf

This is a really good space saver. I know many of our readers have small kitchens and say there is not enough room for the gadgets that they want! This shelf is brilliant as it goes over your free-standing microwave creating extra storage. We then use the shelf for our tea, coffee and sugar, and our kettle.

food storage

Food Storage

These food storage containers are another brilliant find. You get a pack of two, they never leak and are perfect for meal prep and even for taking your food out in for work, the park, picnics etc.

food chopper

Food Chopper

I bought this for Sofia as she had been after a food chopper for a while for when she is helping me in the kitchen. She went on to use it to make the homemade curry paste that is in The Complete Multicooker Cookbook. We now use it mainly for making curry pastes with.

extension lead

Extension Cable Block

We were staying at an Airbnb in Germany in the summer and I fell in love with this plug block that was in the office area. I just had to have one, so it was the first thing I got on our return. It doesn’t take up much room and perfect for plugging in your growing kitchen gadget collection.

whiteboard sticker

White Board For The Cupboard

I bought this huge whiteboard on wheels years ago, but it was taking up so much room, and we had moved house and it no longer fitted. So, I decided to swap it for two kitchen ideas. The first was this easy peel white board sticker. You add it to the inside of your cupboards, and you have a whiteboard. I use it mainly for writing down notes of what I want to cook next, or ingredients that I have that need using up.

cupboard whiteboard

White Board Fridge Magnet

The second whiteboard option that I got was a magnet that fitted our fridge freezer perfectly. We mainly use this for writing our shopping list on and a last minute time and temp that I need to write down.

emma bridgewater mini trays

Emma Bridgewater Mini Trays

I love these because they are nice and small and we took them with us travelling. Perfect for those mini salads in the summer and for some bits and bobs when you are having tapas.

emma polka dot apron

Emma Bridgewater Apron

I realised I didn’t have an apron and maybe I should get one! This was the first and I love the bright colours. I also spotted it in Gavin & Stacy too when we were bingeing the DVD set. If you watch us on YouTube you will notice a mix of aprons now as I had some made from old material I had bought in The Gambia, and also got a Christmas one – so no longer short of aprons!

Food I Bought For Your Recipes

lemon pepper seasoning

Lemon Pepper Seasoning

I met a guy in a swimming pool, on holiday whilst in the Dom Republic. I know weird place to get chatting, but we were at the swim up bar getting cocktails as you do! He told me that the best ever seasoning to put on chicken wings is lemon pepper seasoning and now I am hooked.

dried green lentils

Dried Green Lentils

I was gutted that during the year my favourite food shop closed. I used to go in and weigh out just the amount of lentils that I needed. I eventually ran out and got a last minute supply.

tinned pumpkin

Canned Pumpkin Puree

I often find myself as a recipe creator being ahead of the season. So that I can test recipes and have them ready for when food comes into season. Well, I would usually use fresh pumpkin but too soon so grabbed a few cans on Amazon.

raisins

Big Bag Raisins

You guessed it, close to Christmas and we were making Christmas puddings and Christmas cakes. Plus, they are also going to be good for some other desserts too and its nice to have a big bag of them to go back to later.

steel cut oats

Steel Cut Oats

I was also working at updating our steel cut oats recipe that we last photographed for you back in 2020. That feels like a lifetime ago now. We got a big bag of them and they are great for breakfasts throughout the colder months.
Whilst I always think of them as steel cut oats and the better option for pressure cooking, in the UK they are known as pin head oats and Irish oats for our friends across the west.

And that is the full Amazon list. Its amazing reflecting on your full year of purchases and what you have loved the most and what you have looked forward to using the most. Or what was a waste of your time.

For most used out of the list above it would be a competition between the measuring spoons and my obsession yes OBSESSION with the foil trays that perfectly fit in our air fryer and you can see them in many of our recipes.

Love Sam xx

PS: Comment with what you bought last year, as I would love to know and how useful it has gone on to become.
