Air Fryer Kale Chips

Deliciously crispy air fryer kale chips. The ingredients list is simple – spare kale, oil and seasoning. It then comes together in a bowl before being transferred to the air fryer for that amazing crispy texture.

As you don’t need a lot of kale to fill an air fryer, this is brilliant for making use of your leftover kale. Plus of course, you will feel a lot less guilty making a snack from kale rather than from chocolate.

We featured kale chips in The Complete Air Fryer Cookbook but it didn’t include a photo. I just thought its so beautiful to look at and wanted to share with you the step by step photos.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 85 g /3oz Curly Kale
  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Herbs or swap for another favourite dried herb
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  • Trim the stalks from the kale and wash the kale if it needs washing.
  • Then transfer the kale to a bowl. Add a drizzle of olive oil, along with dried herbs, and salt and pepper.
  • Mix well with your hands to ensure the seasoning and oil is well mixed into the kale.
  • Tip the kale into the air fryer and spread it out.
  • Air fry at 180c/360f for 3 minutes.
  • Then shake the kale in the air fryer basket, increase the temperature to 200c/400f and air fry for a final 2 minutes.

Notes

Seasonings. You can mix and match with any favourite seasoning. I love them with cajun seasoning, southern fried, peri peri salt or even just oregano.
